Darren Alff, of the Bicycle Touring Pro website, recently visited Albania. With just a bike, Darren covered the northern part of the country, including the cities of Shkodra and Pukë. He crossed the border from Montenegro, near Shkodra, and on the way out, he went to Kosovo, in the northeast.
Darren has posted several photos from his trip on his Facebook group devoted to bicycle touring. Check them out

The bunker is one of the few remaining symbols of communism in Albania today. Despite the long rein of communism in the country, from 1945 to 1990, today's Albania is a country that looks less and less like the drab Albania of the late 1980s. New buildings, renovations and renewed activity throughout the country has done away with much of the communist asethetic, at least as far as architecture is concerned.
