The Big Mosque in the center of Durrës.
Durrës
Durrës is the second-largest city in Albania, and a key tourist attraction. In the summer, it's a busy spot full of Albanian families heading to its 10km long sandy beach. The city itself is rich in archaeological as well cultural sites.
In the city itself, there are several interesting archaeological and cultural sites. There's a Roman-era amphitheatre, which is the central piece of an old neighborhood with old city walls, narrow paths and a Byzantine tower at its foot. Durrës has several mosques, including the Big Mosque in the center of the city.
