Pogradec

Pogradec is a small, quiet town in southeastern Albania. The city lies on the Albanian side of lake Ohrid, a large, deep lake shared by Albania and Macedonia. Pogradec is a great place for strolling, fishing and people-watching during its summer xhiro.

There are several unique species of fish available at the lake, including the delicious koran, which is plentiful in the little villages and roadside restaurants just north of the city. Pogradec has a cooler climate than the rest of Albania, and its summers are short. July and August are generally very pleasant for swimming, and most people choose to swim a bit further from the city, in the nearby villages of Tushemisht, Lini and Drilon.
